How to start using TaskCracker?
To start working with TaskCracker do the following simple steps:

  1. Download TaskCracker
  2. Install TaskCracker by double-clicking downloaded file and following simple installation process
  3. Open your Outlook
  4. Click on TaskCracker button in the bottom left corner
  5. Schedule your work by drag and dropping tasks and email

It is that simple!

Can I prolongate my trial?
Sure, just let us know at support@taskcracker.com and we’ll prolongate your trial.

Can I get an invoice for my company?
Absolutely. Just write an email to support@taskcracker.com and we’ll prepare an invoice so you can easily get reimbursed for the purchase.

Can I avoid paying VAT?
Yes. To avoid paying VAT, just enter your VAT number during checkout process and VAT will be excluded from the total.

Can I get a refund if TaskCracker doesn’t work properly?
Full refund is 100% guaranteed if TaskCracker doesn’t work properly on your computer for some reason.

Is my data secure in TaskCracker?
TaskCracker is not sending any personal data including tasks to the Internet at all, so it is secure.

Where can I download EULA?
Download TaskCracker EULA.

What happens after I uninstall TaskCracker?
TaskCracker works with native MS Outlook tasks and emails and never modifies or deletes them on it’s own. When TaskCracker is uninstalled, all the tasks remain in Outlook. Also TaskCracker is not disabling or interfering with any of native Outlook functionality.

Thus TaskCracker is 100% safe to try.

Can I still see plain list of tasks in Outlook?
Yes, you can. TaskCracker doesn’t take away any of Outlook functionality.

How to create a new task?
You can create new task following ways:

  • Double click in the cell
  • Click “New Task in the menu”

Can I prioritize items within a cell?
Yes, you can: just drag a task, move it Up / Down and drop it there.

Can I improve TaskCracker performance?
In case you have a lot of PST files, you can make TaskCracker ignore them and thus it will be working much faster. You can do it in “Performance” tab in “Settings” menu:

Can I get .MSI file for installation?
In case you need .msi file for the installation, you can download it here.

Do I need admin rights to install and run TaskCracker?
No, you do not need admin rights neither to install TaskCracker nor to run it.

Can I activate TaskCracker on multiple devices with a single key?
Yes, you can activate one product key you’ve purchased on multiple devices. 3 devices by default. In case you’ve reinstalled PC and need to reactivate, please contact TaskCracker Support team at support@taskcracker.com so they can reset your activation.

I’ve reinstalled my PC / changed PC. How to activate TaskCracker back?
Just use the key you received by email. In case you’ve already used it to activate TaskCracker for 3 times, please contact TaskCracker Support team at support@taskcracker.com so they can reset your activation.

How can I filter items?
Filter items by accounts, categories, types, delegated/own by clicking filter icon in the top left matrix corner:

What keyboard shortcuts are available?
TaskCracker supports common Outlook shortcuts:

  • “Insert” to complete
  • “Del” to delete
  • “Ctrl + F” to forward task as an attachment
  • “Ctrl + P” to print task

And we are working on other ones.

Can I see task folder name?
Yes, you can. Just go to “Settings” in top menu and select “Show folder name”:

Can I print out the matrix?
Yes, you can. To do so open TaskCracker menu on the top and click “Print”.

How to activate TaskCracker?
To activate the product:

  • Open “TaskCracker” menu (on the top)
  • Click “About”
  • Enter product key
  • Press “Activate” button

Is it possible to activate TaskCracker without internet connection?
Yes, it is perfectly possible to activate TaskCracker without any internet connection (typical for banks).
Just contact us at support@taskcracker.com and we’ll get it done.

TaskCracker button and menu disappeared. How to fix that?
TaskCracker add-in got deactivated for some reason. Please follow this instructions to activate it back:
1. Click “File”

2. Go to “Options”

3. Go to “Add-Ins”

4. Go to “Manage COM Add-Ins”

5. Check back “TaskCracker for Outlook”

6. Click “OK”

7. Reload Outlook

Should be working just fine now!

Some items do not appear in TaskCracker. How to fix that?
By default all the items you have in Outlook should appear in TaskCracker. Items can be missing in the following cases:
1. PST file has been switched off in “Performance” settings (Settings > Performance)
2. Item has been filtered out with the filter (the one that appears when clicking the funnel in top left)
3. PST file is protected or corrupted. You should get a warning message on Outlook start-up when it happens
4. Item is stored in the database we do not have access to (iCloud)
5. Data File settings are wrong. To fix that:
– Right click on the Data file your emails are stored in, but not shown in TaskCracker
Make that PST show up on the To-Do Bar
– Click “Data File Properties”
Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar
– Check the box next to “Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar”
– Click OK

“Not loaded. Certificate of signed and load at startup COM Add-in is not trusted source list”
Please check the setting: File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings > Apply Macro Security Settings to Installed Add-ins
It should be unchecked like this:

Then click OK and reload Outlook.
